What I keep, and what I do with it

EducatedTraveler is one person — me, Arnaud Callier. When you write to me through this site, this is everything that happens to what you wrote. No clauses, no third-person company voice. If something here is not clear, ask me and I will say it better.

What I keep

Only what you actually typed. Nothing is bought about you, and there is no profile built behind your back.

Your first name and email — so I can write back, and so the Circle letter reaches you. Kept only if you ticked the box saying I may.
What you wrote me — the note or letter itself. I read them myself.
The craft you named — this is how I work out which weeks are worth building. It is the single most useful thing you can tell me.
A photo, on /chain only — and only if you chose one.

The photo, said plainly

A photo you add on /chain travels inside the link you send. That means whoever holds the link can open it — including anyone your friend forwards it to. It is blurred until they answer, but that is a curiosity gate, not a lock: someone determined can get past it. Send a photo you would not mind a stranger seeing.

Photos are deleted automatically after 90 days, swept nightly. You can also remove yours at any time before that, with the Remove my photo button on /chain — it appears on the device you sent it from, because that device holds the only proof it was yours.

What I never do

I never sell your details, and I never pass them to anyone to market to you.
I do not sell advertising space on EducatedTraveler. That one is permanent.
I do not send a drip. One letter when something real happens for your craft.
There is no tracking pixel in my emails to see whether you opened them.

Who else touches it

I do not run my own servers, so a few companies necessarily handle this on the way through. The full list, not a sample:

Supabase — the database, the file storage and the sign-in links.
Resend — sends the emails I write to you.
Plausible — counts page visits. No cookies, and it does not identify you.
GitHub Pages — serves these pages to your browser.
jsDelivr — serves one JavaScript library the pages use.
Revolut, PayPal or a bank transfer — only if you actually pay for a seat, and only that payment.

How long I keep it

Photos on /chain — 90 days, then deleted automatically.
Everything else — until you ask me to remove it, or until I close the Circle. I do not delete your note the moment you unsubscribe, because the craft you named is what tells me a week is worth building; if you want it gone as well, say so and it goes.

Getting it removed

Write to arnaudcallier@pm.me and say what you want gone. You do not need a reason and you do not need to be polite about it. Every letter I send also has a one-click way out at the bottom.

If you would rather see what I hold about you first, ask for that instead and I will send it.

Children

This is not built for children, and I do not knowingly keep anything from anyone under 16.

Written by me, about what the site actually does — I checked the code rather than describing an intention. If you are a lawyer and it shows, that is because I am not one. Tell me what is missing and I will fix it.
