Britain's two long-running sound-therapy bodies teach here: a professional diploma run with a university on the south coast, and a voice-practitioner diploma taught by tutors around the country. Neither is in Glastonbury, where this entry used to point.
Sound as a path inward is old. The Nadabindu Upanishad, a Sanskrit yoga text some scholars date to around the start of the Common Era, tells the yogi to listen for an inner sound, first like the ocean or thunder, then finer, to a single note. The singing bowl is younger than its story. Scholars find no credible record of Tibetans playing bowls this way; the first written mention is a 1972 album, Tibetan Bells, by the American musicians Henry Wolff and Nancy Hennings. Sound healing as a profession grew up in the West after that. The British Academy of Sound Therapy, which says it was Britain’s first, opened in 2000, and the Globe Institute in Sausalito, California, calls itself the only state-approved college of sound healing in the United States.
Learn Britain's recognised diploma route, in the landscapes its practitioner community grew out of.
Two training bodies issuing their own diplomas, which is where the British route runs — and also its limit: each is the school and the examiner at once. Nothing outside them describes a practitioner community here, and no one has counted it.

There is a real difference between a school that teaches you and a good-looking website, and too much of the internet is the second kind. Four instruments do the work, and every one of them is visible on the page you are already on.
If a place dodges these, that's your answer. It costs you nothing to ask, and it tells you everything.
This is the short version. The full method is here — the six questions, in order, for any craft anywhere.
